my phone(note2) eventually gave up
torn to bits and pcs, literally :D
and now the search is on for my next fon
cant wait for note 4 availability
got my eyes on LG G Pro 2 LTE and G3
biggest question is resolution
LG G Pro 2 LTE - 1080p, 5.9 inches
LG G3 - 1440p, 5.5 inches
almost the same in all aspects expect reso and size
so as the title says,
quad HD display - is it really worth it?

I don't understand people who push for displays higher than 720p. Sure, clearer, sharper images pero 720p nga hindi ko na makitaan ng pixels.
I say, 1080p is pushing it to the limit. Anything over that is just a waste of energy.

This.
Kung 10" screen yan I would understand the need for 1080p. Pero on such a tiny screen parang wala nang difference.

As a writer in an article has said, "This is clearly a result of cold war between Smartphone manufactures and just to make the specification looks good."

i agree with lioma,. pixel density would make a lot of difference on the actual screen size,. btw I am using note 2, the 720p looks great on the screen size ;)

330 ppi is the sweet spot i guess. i agree na waste of energy ang 500+ ppi.
dun na lang sana nila ilagay yung Quad HD sa 10" Tablets. mas bagay na, mas malaki pa batt capacity nun.

ok lang yan. a few years ago, 720p was considered "high end" and people are willing to purchase smartphones for 20-30k.
now, these can be considered low to midrange specs. Kahit below 5k meron nyan. same goes with the other features ng phone like quad core cpu, ram, internal storage, etc. Give it a few years, yung mga features na pang enthusiast lang, pag naging mainstream, tayo rin makikinabang at a fraction of the cost.
kung smartphone manufacturer ka, how can you justify pricing your new flagship phone for 30k kung ang specs naman ay pang 2012 pa. Overkill or not, they have to set the bar high para ma-differentiate their new flagship phone vs previous gen phones.

I say di siya worth it sa additional cost. The difference in perceived resolution in small devices is insignificant when you reach 300 ppi. parehas lang talaga ang tingin ko sa screen ng dalawa. screen calibration though is another topic.
depende din siguro sa budget ng buyer. between sa 2 phones selected, bang for buck as G Pro 2. pero kung unli ang funds then why settle for less.
Besides di snappy si G3 I dont know but based on hands on mas mabilis si G2. Parang di pa ready ang SD801 to easily handle QHD display.

720P lang sakin okay na eh, 1080P is more than enough. Mas mataas sa Full HD sayang na lang yung performance and battery life hit.
